Artist Statement

I draw, cut, paint, and weave simple paper shapes, fragmented letter forms, and reclaimed materials into densely layered collages. My works resemble scribbling white spectral clouds fluctuating between loosely woven biophilic shapes and symbolized structures extending outward before unraveling aimlessly at the edges. As I remake surfaces, I create spaces for contemplation and wonder. Every small fold, eccentric shape, and enclosure that envelopes the surface is not only significant in itself but is also deeply resonant of a cultural whole.
